Prairie Doc® Perspective: Peripheral artery screening: A lifesaving check-up for your circulation

Body
While you’ve likely had your blood pressure checked in your arm countless times, you may have never had it measured in your leg. Yet, this simple and often overlooked screening can be critical for detecting restricted blood flow. If left untreated, inadequate blood flow could lead to serious complications including limb loss, disability or even death.

Bee stings are a common outdoor hazard, especially during warmer months when bees are most active. For most people, a bee sting is painful but not dangerous.
Why do things take longer than they should?

Why do things take longer than they should?

By Katie Henry, Family and Community Wellness Agent, NDSU Extension – Cavalier County As I was elbows deep in cleaning, canning, lawn care and dog duty this past weekend, I came to the conclusion that things take way longer than expected. Always...unless it’s something fun. In that case, POOF, time just disappears. I may even be enjoying the task. For example, I enjoy canning, it’s just that it takes way longer than I ever anticipate. I think it’s for different reasons in different seasons of life. I used to procrastinate, but now that I’m getting older, I think I just can’t move as quickly as I used to (but that’s another story all together).
