From the Pastor’s Desk:

The month of September has left a mark. In the past few weeks, our church congregation buried two of her matriarchs. Lila was 99 years old. Jean was 88. Mid-September, my son’s mother-in-law, with the assistance of her doctor, chose to end her life. Disease-induced pain gave place to drug-induced death.

As I live out these closing days of the month, my wife’s brother-in-law is in home hospice care.…
