Turkey bingo, a bake sale and a bbq meal will be hosted at the Leroy Hall in Leroy, N.D. on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025. Doors will open at 1:00 pm with bingo starting at 2:00 pm. A 50/50 drawing will be held for $1.00 per ticket for a chance to win $100 or $200.

An ad for an area walk-in clinic caught my eye. The billboard headline raised the question, “Why wait when you can just walk in?” The convenience of the clinic was contrasted with the bother of being sick or injured -- physical aches and pains that “pop up at the most inconvenient times.”

It has now been 35 years since Dr. Dori Carlson and Dr. Mark Helgeson opened Heartland Eye Care in the basement of St. Ansgar's Hospital in Park River. It was a tiny space that allowed one exam room, limited reception seating and a small optical display area.

Minneapolis man accused of 15 charges in Grand Forks

Sentencing was issued on Monday for a Minneapolis man accused of 15 different drug and theft charges in Grand Forks. Tyler Gene Berg, 34, was named in three separate court cases in Northeast Central District Court.
