By now, N.D. brandowners should have received their 2025 brand renewal forms in the mail. The renewal notices were mailed the first week of August.

Spotted water hemlock, a plant native to N.D., has recently been identified in several counties across the state. The plant is highly poisonous to humans and all livestock, especially cows and horses. The toxin in the plant is cicutoxin and is most harmful in the spring.

A Pembina County ag business has been awarded a loan which will go towards creating a compost facility. Dakota Valley Growers (DVG), located in Bathgate, was awarded a loan of $450,000 to go towards creating the facility.
