June 16, 2025 – Located near the present-day International Peace Garden, the North Dakota town of Dunseith is named for a Gaelic word meaning “city of peace” – although there have certainly been times in the city’s history when peace was in short supply.

Sentencing issued in animal cruelty case

Sentencing was issued last week for Devils Lake resident Brandon Tyrell Rogness, 32. In March 2024, Ramsey County officials were called to an abandoned trailer outside of Crary where they discovered the remains of five dogs and one dog barely clinging to life.

Pembina County 4-H Leaders team up with The Cure to raise funds

The Pembina County 4-H Junior Leaders teamed up with The Cure Sandwich Shop in Walhalla to raise funds for their educational trip to Boston. The members sold Herbalife Power Teas and, with the generosity of owner Sarah Price, raised $1,868.
