The sun is shining, the snow is melting, and let’s hope we can dodge another snowstorm this weekend. Spring has officially arrived on the calendar, and we can feel it in our steps! We’re in the home stretch for this school year, having entered the fourth quarter.

National Burrito Day

A lot of people recognize Taco Tuesday as a regular day of the week. Some people even request enchiladas with red sauce every time they go to a restaurant that serves them, and almost everyone likes a good burrito.

Third annual Great Hotdish Bake-Off to be hosted

The Cavalier American Legion Auxiliary will sponsor and host the third annual Great Hotdish Bake-Off, which will take place on Sunday, April 6 from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. at the Cavalier American Legion, located on Highway 5 West of Cavalier.

Multiple bills seek to make access to healthcare easier

Legislative committees are considering several proposals to give North Dakotans easier access to health care. HB1594 would require health care facilities to post standard charges for items and services.

Capitol briefs

Thrift store clothing may be exempt from sales tax Thrift store clothing may soon be exempted from N.D.’s 5 percent sales tax, as well as local sales taxes. HB1428 would apply the exemption to clothing sold by nonprofit thrift stores.
