DAKOTA DATEBOOK: Walhalla

Body August 2024 —Walhalla, in Pembina County of northeastern North Dakota, was incorporated in August 1918. However, the town, which was first called St. Joseph, had a very colorful and historical background for many years before that.

Phase one of Langdon Street Project complete

Body After the better part of three months, phase one of the multi-year Langdon Street project has wrapped up. Wednesday was a milestone for the city of Langdon, as crews wrapped up phase one of the town’s street project.

Body Put on your lederhosen, lace up your dirndl, and make your way to Munich’s Oktoberfest on Friday, Aug. 9 – traditional Oktoberfest attire is not required. Organizers are expecting this year’s event to be even bigger and better than last year with new events and more food.

North Dakota 4-H shooting sports teams place in national championship

Body NDSU Extension North Dakota’s 4-H shooting sports archery team placed 12th, the air rifle team placed 15th and the shotgun team placed 21st at the 2024 4-H National Championships in Grand Island, Nebraska, June 25-27.
