Recent rainfall across the Pembina River watershed caused the river at Walhalla to rise approximately 6 feet overnight, June 30. According to the U.S. Geological Survey gauge, the river climbed from about 2.65 feet on June 25 to nearly 9 feet on June 30. Ditches along Highway 1 in Langdon remained full following heavy rainfall on June 29. Recent storms brought significant moisture to the area, leaving standing water in low-lying locations and contributing to high water levels across Cavalier County.
