A memorial service for Annalee Y. Stone of Roseau will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2026, at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, with visitation one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial of Annalee and Marvin Stone will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at Sarles Cemetery in Sarles, N.D. Annalee Yvonne Stone was born April 29, 1936, to Harvey and Evelyn (Mc-Donald) Mirehouse. Annalee married Marvin Stone on Oct. 21, 1953. She was first and foremost a wife and mother. She worked part-time as a postmaster in Sarles, N.D., then she and Marvin went on to own grocery stores, restaurants and a mobile home park in North Dakota, Iowa and Arkansas. They worked hard and played hard. Many weekends were spent camping and boating, listening to country western music and dancing.
Family came first, and she loved spending time with family and friends. Annalee loved to sew and completed quilts for all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was so grateful for her 10 years at LifeCare Senior Living — good friends, fun bingo, Wii bowling, music and games.
Annalee was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Evelyn Mirehouse; her husband, Marvin Stone; and her brothers: Wes Mirehouse, Darrol Mirehouse and Merle Mirehouse. She is survived by her children: Michael (Mary) Stone of Bigfork, Mont., Deborah (Michael) Higgins of Roseau, Minn., and Kevin (Ellen) Stone of Dardanelle, Ark.; grandchildren: Ann Marie Stone, Zachary Michael (Laura) Stone, Kristi Marie (Jason) Dahl, Pamela Dee (Sean) Sherrod, Todd Michael (Elaina) Higgins, Tyler (Melissa) Stone and Tayler Stone; stepgrandchildren Adam Bratton and Chris Bratton; great-grandchildren; Lexi, Molly, Chase, Kayla, Hannah, Seth, Colby, Hudson, Ryder, Ivy, Andy, Ally, Walker and Meadow; 13 stepgrandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many nephews and nieces.
