Cardinals softball team gets first win of season at Belcourt

The Langdon-Munich Cardinals girls softball team has had a busy week. The Cards played at Nelson County on April 16 and lost 9-3 then played at Thompson April 20 and got thumped 20-0 in three innings. The young Cardinals are learning, however, as they got their first win of the season in Belcourt against Turtle Mountain on April 21. They won the first game of a double header 11-3 then lost game two, 9-7. Langdon-Munich will play at Grafton on April 27, then they hope to have their first home game of the season versus Pembina County North on April 28.

Golf: Cardinals place fourth, Eagles fifth at Nelson County Early Bird Tourney MCVILLE — Langdon Area/Munich placed fourth at the Nelson County Early Bird Invitational Tournament with a team score of 346, with North Border right behind them. The meet was held on a cold day on April 16.

Romfo has four hits and a towering home run in 12-0 victory The Langdon-Munich Cardinals high school baseball team got their season underway on April 10, playing at Des Lacs-Burlington. The Cards won the game 12-0, as they pounded out 16 hits, and won by the 10 run rule in six innings.

Cardinal Clays Program continues to grow in Langdon, Munich

A growing number of area students are taking aim at a sport that emphasizes safety, discipline, and steady improvement through the Cardinal Clays program. The Cardinal Clays, a self-funded program serving students in the Langdon and Munich school systems, has been introducing youth to trap and skeet shooting for approximately 15 years. The team is affiliated with the Munich School and competes in the North Dakota High School Clay Target League.

6 area players from Langdon-Munich, North Border make ND Shrine rosters

State Champion Cardinals, Eagles each put three players on the 11-man and 9-man East teams The rosters and teams have been announced for the 2026 North Dakota Shrine Bowl, which is an all-star high school football event slated to be played at Mayville State University on June 20. The 9-man game will be played at 3:00pm, followed by the 11-man contest at 6:00pm.

Hall of Fame wrestling coach Shon Horgan comes out of retirement to coach the PCN boys program A change has been made in the Pembina County North boys wrestling program. Mitch Greenwood was asked to step down from head coach of the program, and taking his place will be Shon Horgan of Walhalla.
