Body December 2, 2024 – Now that Thanksgiving has passed, for those of us who aren’t early birds or late ducks, it’s time to get the Christmas cards sent out. You know the drill. Some people hate it, some people love it, but we just can’t stop the tradition.

Body December 4, 2024 – It was this week in 1890 that Mayville State University first began classes as the Mayville Normal School with seventeen students and four teachers on the second floor of the city’s firehouse.

DAKOTA DATEBOOK: Dakota the Dinosaur

Body December 3, 2024 – North Dakota is no stranger to dinosaurs. The state has a fascination with them. Fourteen dinosaurs are on display at the Dickinson Dinosaur Museum, including a 37-foot tyrannosaurus rex.

LADY CARDS SWEEP THEIR WAY BACK TO THE 'B'!

Body After suffering two heartbreaking losses in the title match of the Region 4 Volleyball Tournament the last two seasons, the Langdon-Munich Cardinals volleyball team came into the 2024 volleyball season with a lot of questions and a lot of youth.

Body Our great photographer, Larry Stokke, got down to Grand Forks and the Alerus Center to get some shots of Calvin, N.D. native and Langdon graduate Simon Romfo. Simon and his twin, Grant, played their last home game of 2024 for the UND football team.
Congratulations to Langdon senior Meredith Romfo, who signed a letter of intent last week for the North Dakota State track and field team. Romfo, who won the State Class B Title in the javelin as a junior this past spring, will be focusing on that event at NDSU. She is the daughter of Troy and Rachelle Romfo of Calvin (also pictured) and sister to Grant and Simon Romfo, who are playing football at UND. Way to go, Meredith, and best of luck with the Bison!

Body There is great news this week, as the Langdon-Munich Cardinals girls volleyball team won the Region 4 Volleyball Tournament on Nov. 14 in Devils Lake, beating Benson County for the title in a sweep.

Eagles lose play-in match at Cavalier to end volleyball season

Body The Region 2 Volleyball Tournament got underway in Grafton Nov. 11-14, and there were three play-in matches to get into the tourney played on Nov. 8. Ninth seeded North Border played at eighth seeded Cavalier that evening to decide who would advance to the regional tourney.
