Prevention encouraged due to uptick in N.D. influenza activity

BISMARCK, N.D. - North Dakota Health and Human Services (HHS) encourages residents to take precautions as influenza activity remains high with newly reported influenza-associated hospitalizations and deaths. This season, 5,166 influenza cases have been reported to HHS.

At its December 2025 board meeting, the Polar Communications Board of Directors accepted the resignation of CEO Karl Blake. Blake plans to retire from the company on July 1, 2026. Blake has been with the cooperative since April 1994.

Application window opens for Property Tax Credit

North Dakotans who own a home in the state and use it as their primary residence can now apply for a property tax credit. The Primary Residence Credit (PRC) gives homeowners a chance to apply for up to $1,600 against their property tax dues.
