As voters review their ballots ahead of the June 9 election, some may notice a question asking them to designate an official county newspaper. What does that mean? An official county newspaper serves as the publication of record for local government.

North Dakota and Maryland will serve as pilot states for a new acreage reporting system designed to modernize FSA operations. USDA Deputy Administrator for Farm Programs Jared Hagert said the upgraded technology will improve efficiency for farmers and county FSA offices, “Being able to leverage the technology they’re utilizing on-farm to help streamline acreage reporting is going to be a huge win.” The modernization effort is designed to save time while still protecting producer data and maintaining local service through county offices. “Data security is paramount for us. That’s something that is top of mind morning, noon and night. The producer’s data is the producer’s data.”

United Telephone Educational Foundation awards $62,000 in scholarships to 42 local students

Rapid Relief Team treats hospital staff during appreciation event

Healthcare workers at Pembina County Memorial Hospital received a special show of appreciation during National Nurses Week thanks to the efforts of the Rapid Relief Team (RRT) and local volunteers from Neche. As part of the charity’s month-long International Nurses Day campaign across North America, RRT volunteers provided coffee, donuts and cookies during the hospital’s staff appreciation brunch, serving approximately 140 hospital employees.
