Local sisters earn top honors at ND Junior Simmental Field Day

Sisters Bailey and Peyton Samuelson turned in an impressive showing at the North Dakota Junior Simmental Field Day held recently in Carrington. Bailey earned Grand Champion Purebred Simmental Heifer honors, while Peyton claimed Reserve Champion Purebred Simmental Heifer. In addition to the cattle show, youth participants competed in sales talk, public speaking, livestock judging, showmanship, genetic and EPD quizzes, and other educational contests. The event serves as preparation for the American Junior Simmental Association National Classic, scheduled for July 4-10 in Grand Island, Neb.

North Border School Election set for June 9th

The annual election for the North Border School District #100 will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. Polling places will be located in the following: Pembina School, Pembina, ND and Walhalla School, Walhalla, ND. Polls will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Voters may vote at any polling place within the district.

Allo Towers proposes the construction of a guyed style telecommunications tower within a 50’ x 50’ compound approximately 0.18 miles west-southwest of 159th Ave. NE & 97th St. NE, Pembina, Pembina County, ND. The height of the tower will be 76.2-meters above ground level (250-feet above ground level) and 77.7-meters above ground level including appurtenances (255-feet above ground level with appurtenances). Proposed project will include ground disturbance. Auto Drive releases summer performance schedule

Are you ready for warm nights and live music? Local fan favorite Auto Drive, a group of teens from Starkweather, is ready for summer, and the band has just released its upcoming schedule. Stretch and get your dancing shoes on or bring a lawn chair to kick back and listen to the sounds of classic rock and roll.
