Lent & Holy Week. This weekend marks the beginning of Holy Week, which includes Palm Sunday through Easter. The series, The Chosen, dedicated all of Season five to the first part of Holy Week, from the triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday to the Last Supper and the Agony in the Garden on Holy Thursday.

After slow rollout, new criminal justice reentry programs begin to take shape

Aim is to deflect offenders from criminal justice system, help others reenter Two sets of legislative measures approved in early 2025 — aimed at keeping people out of the criminal justice system or helping offenders reenter society after time served — are beginning to roll out across North Dakota. “We have an opportunity to help people become healthier, rather than getting trapped or caught in what can be a difficult-to-navigate criminal justice system,” said Jonathan Holth, North Dakota’s first commissioner for Recovery & Reentry.

Snow flies at Frost Fire for Sno Series races

Engines roared, and snow flew last weekend as the Two Eighty Six Sno Series made its stop at Frost Fire Park, bringing high-speed snowmobile racing to the Pembina Gorge. Racers from across eastern North Dakota and western Minnesota competed on the snocross-style track, navigating jumps, tight turns and fast straightaways.

By Borderland Press Staff Kensi Ann Breyer, 36, former secretary of the Cavalier County Water Board, pleaded guilty to a pair of misdemeanor charges in Northeast District Court on Thursday, March 12. Breyer was charged with misapplication of entrusted property and deceptive writings for using funds.

Change of Plea hearing scheduled A Change of Plea hearing is scheduled next week for Mark West Lennon, 43. Lennon was arrested in Cavalier County in September after allegedly stealing several vehicles and items from a vacant home in Langdon.
