Military Gallery Caravan to visit 48 North Dakota communities

BISMARCK, N.D. - The State Historical Society of North Dakota Foundation will launch the Military Gallery Caravan, a statewide outreach tour visiting 48 communities across North Dakota in April. Foundation Director Dale Lennon will share the vision and progress of the new Military Gallery addition at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum, Bismarck.

NDSU Extension to host grant writing workshop in Devils Lake

North Dakota State University Extension will host the “Beginner’s Guide to Grant Writing”, a two-part interactive workshop for grant writers of all skill levels on how to prepare and submit a professional proposal. The events will be held April 14 and April 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Chautauqua Gallery at Lake Region State College in Devils Lake.

State-mandated abortion law training now available for North Dakota doctors

A new training commissioned by the North Dakota Legislature to address confusion about the state’s abortion laws is now available on the North Dakota Board of Medicine’s website. The course covers North Dakota statutes including the state’s near-total abortion ban, a law criminalizing partial-birth abortions and the Abortion Control Act, which establishes other abortion-related restrictions.

Honor Flight Network expands flights to Desert Storm era veterans

The National Honor Flight Network is proud to announce expansion to Gulf War/Operation Desert Storm era veterans who served through July 31, 1991 (based on Veterans Affairs established dates). The Desert Shield and Desert Storm Memorial – honoring more than 600,000 service members who deployed to help liberate Kuwait in 1991 - will be dedicated this fall. Beginning in the 2027 flying season, hubs can begin bringing veterans who served between December 7, 1941, and July 31, 1991.

JAMESTOWN, N.D. – North Dakota Farmers Union President Matt Perdue represented National Farmers Union in a hearing on March 10 before the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, testifying on ways to increase domestic consumption of agricultural products. Perdue cited investment in value-added processing and renewable fuels markets, expansion of local and regional supply chains, and addressing competition as ways to increase domestic markets.
