A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. at Concordia Lutheran Church in Edmore, N.D., for Doris Trontvet, 89, of Edmore, who passed away June 11, 2026, at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton, N.D. Inurnment will be at the Edmore Cemetery.

Doris Sperling was born June 21, 1936, in Dresden Township, the daughter of the late Bernard and Lena (Domres) Sperling. She grew up and attended school there and graduated from Nekoma High School. She earned her teaching certificate from the Mayville Teacher’s College and returned to the Langdon area where she taught country school for a few years. She was united in marriage to Earl Trontvet on June 8, 1958, in Nekoma, N.D., and the couple made their home on a farm near Edmore. They retired from farming in 1979 and moved into Edmore in 1984. She worked for the Johnson Store and later the O & D Café. She worked for 28 years at the Edmore Rest Home before retiring. Earl passed away in 2001, and she continued to make her home in Edmore until moving into the Lutheran Sunset Home in May of 2026.

She was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church of Edmore. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and completing crossword puzzles. Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids.

She is survived by her children: Kent (Peppi) Trontvet of Grafton, N.D., Keith (Leann Flaaskog) Trontvet of Edmore, N.D., and Kerry Trontvet of Edmore, N.D.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother Delmar (Carol) Sperling of Washington state; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Earl; brothers: Richard, Clarence, Edwin, James and Robert Sperling, and sister Idella Kuchar.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to HIA Hospice.
