A memorial service was held Oct. 22, 2026, in Langdon, N.D., for Joyce E. Johnson, 78, of Langdon, who passed away Oct. 4, 2026, at Maple Manor Care Center in Langdon. Burial of ashes was at Lebanon Cemetery, Langdon.
Joyce Schuppert was born Jan. 29, 1948, in Grafton, N.D., to William and Elsie (Wagner) Schuppert. She grew up and attended school in Grafton. On Feb. 25, 1966, she was married to Merle Johnson in Hallock, Minn. They moved to Langdon and made their life there. In 1991, Merle passed away. Joyce continued living in their home until moving to Maple Manor Care Center in 2018.
Joyce enjoyed watching birds from her home and even had a pet bird named Tweety. When she moved to Maple Manor, Joyce loved doing the many activities that Maple Manor had to offer: playing bingo, doing arts and crafts, embroidery, puzzles, painting and coloring pictures, petting animals when they were brought to the home and baking. She enjoyed visiting with the many residents and especially looked forward to when her family would come to see her. Joyce was a very loving sister and aunt. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving Joyce are her siblings: Doris (Ronald) Ridley of Langdon, N.D., Shirley Konze of Minot, N.D., and Art (Marlene) Schuppert of Grand Forks, N.D.; one niece; seven nephews; and several aunts, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Merle.
