A Celebration of Life was held April 19, 2025, in Great Falls, Mont., for Lorrayne Kathryn Zobrak, 88, who passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025, at Highgate Senior Living Center in Great Falls. Interment was at Union Cemetery in Osnabrock, N.D. Lorrayne was born March 23, 1937, in Osnabrock, N.D., to Fred and Kathryn (Haug) Poier. After graduating from Osnabrock High School, she earned her standard teaching certificate from Moorhead State and began her teaching career in Wolf Point, Mont. She met her husband, Ronald Zobrak, while he was stationed at Malmstrom AFB. They were married in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and spent many years living abroad in Italy, Germany, Taiwan, and various states across the U.S. as part of their Air Force life. Together, they raised three children: Rochelle, Ronald and Shawn.
Following Ron’s passing in 1979, Lorrayne returned to Great Falls and earned her Bachelor of Education from the College of Great Falls. She resumed her teaching career in Wolf Point, where she touched the lives of hundreds of students.
She was known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as “Nana” and brought joy and laughter to every room. She was a lifelong member of Eastern Star and a proud supporter of Shriners Children’s Hospitals and Boys Town.
Survivors include her children: Rochelle (Art) Nyberg of Minot, N.D., Ronald (Rhonda) Zobrak of Great Falls, Mont., and Shawn (Angie) Zobrak of Las Vegas, Nev.; her grandchildren: Brie Nyberg, Lacie Nyberg, Halie (Franco) Goicochea, Mitchell (Alyssa), Nathan, Taylor, Grant, Emily, Max Zobrak, and Hanna Nyhus; four great-grandchildren: Elijah and Noah Goicochea, Ava and Hudson Moore; niece and nephew Kathy (Mike) Schoen and Mark (Lori) Gross; and many dear friends including Betty and Grant Nelson, Carolyn Schields, and Roberta (David) Nyhus. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ron; sister Marlys; brother-inlaw Leonard Gross; and close friend Jack Schields.
