Candace Lee Thomas

A memorial service will be held Thurs day, June 5, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at the Walhalla Lutheran Church in Walhal- la, N.D. with visitation one hour before the time of the service for Candace Thomas, 46, of Walhalla, who passed away March 23, 2025, in Fargo, N.D.

Candace Lee Hellman was born Aug. 7, 1978, in Bismarck, N.D., the daughter of Gary and Donna (Hummel) Hellman. She grew up in Brownsville, S.D., and graduated from Walhalla High School. Candace then attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, N.D., for two years. She worked at Motor Coach Industries, Kids Townhouse, and in 2011, she started working as a paraprofessional at Walhalla School. Her number one focus in her life was her sons. She also enjoyed painting and being at school with all the students.

On Aug. 5, 2000, she married James Thomas at Walhalla Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband, James; sons: Zach Thomas of Walhal la, N.D., Tyler Thomas and Kyle Thomas, both of Grand Forks, N.D. Preceding her in death were her parents, Gary and Donna.
