Darylene Merrill (Dickson) Schneider

A graveside ceremony is planned for May 10, 2025, at the Hannah Cemetery for Darylene Merrill (Dickson) Schneider, 92, of Hannah, N.D., who passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025, at her home in Langdon, N.D.

Born on May 18, 1932, in Byron Township, Cavalier County, she was a beloved wife to Sylvester Schneider. She is survived by her daughter Maryl Borgen (Dennis) and sons Mark Schneider (Lori) and Daniel Schneider (Jane), as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Sylvester, father Goldwin Dimma, and mother Eva Dickson.

Darylene was born in the Byron Township School to Eva (teacher) and Dim (janitor/bus driver). The family later moved around the Hannah area, and she attended high school in Hannah. Syl was her ride to school as she was on the way to Hannah. They moved to Aneta, N.D., in 1972. After Syl’s death, Darylene moved back to Langdon to be closer to family and friends. No funeral was planned, as Darylene wanted her remains donated to UND Medical School.
