Mass of Christian Burial was held November 7, 2025, in Grafton, N.D., for Harriet Dosmann, age 89, who died at her home on Nov. 1, 2025, after a brief illness. Inurnment was at Saint John's Catholic Cemetery.
Harriet Elaine Eickenbrock was born Aug. 22, 1936, to Joseph and Jessie (Helgeson) Eickenbrock on the family farm near Wales, N.D. She attended Minto Consolidated School and graduated from high school in Wales in 1954. Harriet attended Aaker’s Business College in Grand Forks, N.D., following high school then worked as a legal secretary for the States Attorney’s office. She married Lyle Dosmann on Oct. 14, 1957. They lived in Grand Forks until moving to Grafton in 1972 to start their own auto body shop, D&E Auto Repair. Harriet and Lyle enjoyed fishing and lake life at Rocky Point on Lake of the Woods. They spent summers at the lake until Lyle’s passing in 1998. They were members of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Grafton.
Harriet is survived by her three daughters: Tammy Johnson of Bemidji, Minn., Julie (Terry) Demester and Alane Dosmann, both of Grafton; her sister, Connie Tupa, of Thompson, N.D.; grandchildren: Jessie (Ryann) Engholm Johnson, Bethany Johnson, Joe (Kelsey) Demester, Emilie Demester, Jacob (Joelle) Schmuck, Katelyn (Fei Liu) Schmuck and Lisa Jo (Tristin Lopez) Schmuck; her great-grandchildren: Lincoln and Holden Schmuck, Henry Demester and Koda Lopez.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lyle; sister Shirley Mc-Cracken; brothers-in-law: John Tupa, Bill McCracken, Kenny Dosmann and Glen Schneider; sisters-in-law Alyce Schneider and Janet Dosmann; and her nephew, Daniel Dosmann.
The service was live streamed on the Tollefson Funeral home website.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to the Grafton Food Pantry or HIA Hospice.
The Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton was in charge of arrangements.
