Marjorie Nowatzki

Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, October 6, 2026, in Langdon, N.D., for Marjorie “Marge” Nowatzki, 87, of Langdon, who passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Maple Manor Care Center in Langdon. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery, Langdon.

Marjorie Mae Schrader was born October 21, 1938, in Langdon, N.D., to Fred and Gladys (McDaniel) Schrader. She grew up and attended school in Hay Township where she loved helping her dad on the farm. Following her father’s death, the family moved into Langdon. Marge began working at First Northwestern Bank. She graduated from Langdon High School in 1956. On September 15, 1959, she married the love of her life and best friend, Harold “Ole” Nowatzki. They were blessed with three children: Loren, Nancy, and Jerry.

Marge continued working in the banking industry at First Bank of Langdon and Metropolitan Bank until about 1967 when she chose to stay home to raise her children. After Marge and Ole became empty nesters, Marge started working at the Bread Pan Bakery in 1986 and began a 15-year career at the bakery. She truly enjoyed her time there, especially getting to know the local children and hearing about what they were up to.

Marge was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and a member of the altar society. In her younger years, Marge was an avid bowler and liked participating in a weekly bowling league and traveling to state tournaments. In later years, it was hard to find a night when Ole and Marge weren’t seen at The Hop for Bingo.

A few of her other favorite pastimes included pull tabs and slot machines. Marge and the family enjoyed many camping and fishing adventures, and she especially cherished spending time visiting with friends and family.

Marge was a resident at Maple Manor Care Center for the last 10 years. The family would like to thank all the staff at MMCC for the wonderful care she received; she was certainly treated with kindness and respect.

Marge is survived by her devoted husband, Harold “Ole”; children: Loren (Joni), Nancy (Mike) Belanus, and Jerry (Jen); grandchildren Christopher Belanus (Crystal) and Hilary Nowatzki; and great-grandchildren Cade and Charlotte Belanus. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Lynn and Glenn.

The family requests that any memorials be given to Maple Manor Care Center.
