I start out this week with a bit of sad news. One of Edmore’s elders, 93-year-old Katie Pesek, passed away last week. Her service was held on Wednesday. Most of Katie’s friends have passed on, but it was clear by those who were there how much she was respected and so loved. Many of the friends of her kids and grandkids came to share love, prayers, and to comfort her family. Small towns are the best!! Katie spent much of her life cooking and baking in several small towns in our area. She was our favorite cook from 19952011, when she retired at the young age of 80. She was especially known for her Rolukis and Kolaches. She will be missed. God bless her memory. There was a baby shower on Saturday for baby girl Kuchar. She will be born soon to Jordan and Bethany Kuchar. It’s always so exciting when our population grows. I’m anxious to meet this much loved baby girl!

Mass of Christian Burial was held May 3, 2025, in Michigan, N.D., for Dorine Dorothy Gerstner, 100, who passed away April 29, 2025, at Maple Manor Care Center in Langdon, N.D. Burial was at the Michigan Cemetery.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Emmanuel Evangelical Church in Langdon, N.D., with visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. for George Roder, 87, of Langdon, N.D., who passed away May 3, 2025, in Sun City, Ariz. A Masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Lebanon Lodge in Langdon. Burial will be at Lebanon Cemetery.

A funeral service was held May 5, 2025, in Grand Forks, N.D., for Shirley Irene Peterson, 74, of Grand Forks, who passed away peacefully at her home on April 27, 2025, after a long battle with frontotemporal dementia. Her burial was at Lakota Cemetery in Lakota, N.D.

Dale K. “Boots” Johnson, 86, of Wales, N.D., passed away April 11, 2025, at the Osnabrock Community Living Center in Osnabrock, N.D.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at St. Alphonsus Church in Langdon, N.D., with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. for Judy Tetrault, 81, of Langdon, who passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Maple Manor Care Center in Langdon. Burial of ashes will be at Calvary Cemetery in Langdon.

A memorial service was held April 23, 2025, in Langdon, N.D. for Thomas Hunter Sabo, 18, of Langdon, who passed away April 16, 2025.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at United Lutheran Church in Langdon, N.D., with visitation starting at noon for Kenneth Carlson, 76, of Langdon, who passed away April 19, 2025.

A graveside ceremony is planned for May 10, 2025, at the Hannah Cemetery for Darylene Merrill (Dickson) Schneider, 92, of Hannah, N.D., who passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025, at her home in Langdon, N.D.
