Beautiful weather here, not so beautiful weather coming As usual around these parts, we take the good with the bad. Well, mostly good and somewhat bad might be a better way to say it. The weather has been pristine the past week, but as we all know, it won’t last forever. Colder temps are forecast for the week ahead. It has been a really good growing season to this point, as it’s been plant-rain, plant-rain. That’s all good for us all, and let’s hope that continues. We are at the bridge of the end of spring sports and the beginning of summer activities. We have much to discuss, so let’s get to it.

Body
The Langdon-Munich Cardinals entered the 2025 Region 4 Tournament in Park River as the second seed, and they hoped for a deep run in the tourney. Those dreams were dashed; they lost two hard-fought, one-run games: 13-12 to Grafton on May 19 then were upset by Midway-Minto in a loser out game 6-5 on May 22. With the losses, Langdon-Munich had their season come to an end with a record of 11-7. Park River Area won the tournament over Grafton 9-1 in the championship game on May 23, and the Aggies will represent Region 4 at the State B Tournament in Fargo May 29-31, as they got the top overall seed. Juniors Theo Romfo, Jax Johnson and Tyson Gemmill and sophomore Landon Schneider all made the All-Region 4 team. Kyler Droog from Grafton won Senior Athlete of the Year, and Brett Omdahl of Park River Area won Coach of the Year.

And the rains came We start this week by saying a big HELLO to the much needed rainfall that has come to our area in the past week. Sadly, we got the cold with it, but as we are typing these words, almost an inch of rain has fallen into our rain gauge at KNDK 1080, and that’s just in one day.
