A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2025, with visitation from 5 to 7 PM in Langdon, N.D., for Dwayne Joseph Klein, 89, who passed away March 4, 2025, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D., surrounded by his family.
Dwayne was born on June 30, 1935, to Andrew and Myrtle (Horpestad) Klein in Cavalier County, N.D. Dwayne attended Alsen School. He worked for the Soo Line railroad and retired after 42 years of service. He married the love of his life on Aug. 24, 1956, in Munich, N.D. They were blessed with one daughter, Karla. Everyone in Langdon knew Dwayne, or 'Duke,' as he sold tickets at Langdon High School for 40 years. He loved fishing and hunting and took great pride in his garden, always keeping his yard pristine. He was famous for hosting fish fry gatherings at his house, which everyone knew as 'Duke's Fish Fry.' He loved anything Coke and enjoyed showing his collection off to all that visited. He will be greatly missed.
Grateful to have shared his life with him are his wife of 68 years, Shirley Klein; daughter Karla (Kevin) Geiger; brothers: Leonard Klein, Merril (LouAnn) Klein, and Darrol (Marlene) Klein; and grandchildren: Adam Klemisch, Paige Klemisch, Tatiana Geiger, and Thalia Morales. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Lawrence, Alvin, and Richard.
