Grizzlies earn wins, strong finishes at Mariya-Tate Memorial April 30

The Pembina County North boys and girls track teams turned in several top finishes at the Mariya-Tate Memorial meet, highlighted by multiple event wins and strong relay performances. The girls 4x800-meter relay team of Maci Puppe, Emersen Helgoe, Delaney Denault and Shirley Kemp qualified for state in Rugby with a time of 10:05.41.

The Pembina County North Grizzlies turned in a strong performance at the Don Kerlin Invitational on May 2 in Mayville, highlighted by wins from Micah Dutch, Nash Fitzsimonds, Maci Puppe, and the boys 4x100 relay team. The boys 4x100 relay team of Micah Dutch, Trevor Hilluka-Moore, Kylan Schafer and Jesse Eisenbeis also qualified for state with a time of 45.73.

Cardinals run off three straight wins as regular season winds down

The Langdon-Munich Cardinals high school baseball team continued a busy schedule, as their regular season is nearing a close. The Cards beat Grafton 3-0 at home on April 30 then played two games at a triangular event in Thompson on May 2. They beat Valley City 5-3 then defeated the Tommies 7-0. The Cards played at Park River on May 6 then will play at Rugby on May 7. Langdon-Munich will host a triangular of their own with Bottineau and May-Port-C-G on May 9, with the Cardinals playing the Patriots at 11:00 a.m. then taking on the Braves at 3:00 p.m. They will then close out their season hosting Midway- Minto in a makeup game on May 11 and will travel to Hatton-Northwood for a non-conference contest on May 12.

Lady Cards get two shutout wins over NL, Grafton to push them up in Region 2 standings

The Langdon-Munich Cardinals girls softball team has a very young roster this year, but the more playing time they get, the better they have been playing. The Lady Cards got two shutout wins in their last two games, winning a home game in Munich over Northern Lights 14-0 on April 30 then also got a big victory at Grafton 15-0 on May 2. The Cardinals had a game in Langdon with Midway-Minto postponed from May 4 to May 12 and also have a regularly scheduled game at Pembina County North on May 11. They will play May 8-9 at a jamboree in Fargo, taking on Ray at 3:00 p.m. on May 8 then playing two more games on May 9.

Hopefully the end of postponements until winter We pray that we have finally come to the end of postponements for the spring season. The forecast looks to finally be consistently decent for the week ahead and hopefully beyond.
