A fun day planned for an old friend at the Langdon Country Club Let’s begin this week by letting everyone know that there will be a day of golf and a day of remembrance on Oct. 4 at the Langdon Country Club. It’s what is being called “Fisky Fun Day.” It is planned to be a day to remember Jeff Fisk, a longtime Langdon resident and country club board member, who passed away too soon last year at the age of 60. Hard to believe it’s been over a year now since Jeff left us very suddenly and unexpectedly, and there has never really been any kind of event to remember him in Langdon.

We are amazingly over halfway through the high school football season As most of you get this paper on Sept. 19, we are officially into the second half of the 2025 high school football season. It seems like we write these words every season, but it’s crazy how fast the season goes. Week 5 of the Friday Night Lights are ready to go for both teams that we cover here in The Borderland Press. Langdon-Munich continues to be #1 in Class B 11-man football, and even though the Eagles lost to a very tough New Rockford-Sheyenne-Maddock team, who have now won 16 games in a row all by the continuous clock, they are ranked fourth in 9-man football. We are now to the last month of the regular season, but both squads are getting closer to clinching playoff spots, as we see the postseason on the horizon. You can hear the Cardinals play at Rugby on Sept. 19 on 95-7 My FM and the Eagles host Larimore the same night on KNDK 1080. North Border is also doing their third annual Jersey Night for their game, which people will be recognized for the positive impact they have had on Eagles players.
