The 30th MusicFest Weekend is here in Langdon Let's start this week by mentioning that the 30th Annual (!!) Rendezvous Region MusicFest is here, happening July 19-20 in Langdon. It's just wild that this event is going on its 30th birthday. Seems like just yesterday that an idea by Don 'Hoppy' Haugen, Bob Mostad, Alan Herrud, Steve Andresen, and others changed the name of Langdon's annual summer party from Langdon Days to the MusicFest it is now. If some of our readers recall, the first show was The Drifters, The Platters, The Coasters and The Marvelettes - all in one night. That gave way to shows by Bobby Vee, Johnny Rivers, Three Dog Night, Loverboy, Starship, Sha Na Na, Tommy James and the Shondells, Chubby Checker and more.

Turning in a storm chaser totally by accident Let’s begin this week by telling a story that happened to us on the way back from the Ponderosa out in Williston on July 7. The 300-mile drive was going great when Lovely Lisa noticed something by Highway 66 just southwest of Calio.
