March 30, 1951 — February 22, 2026 A special reception for family and friends is planned at 10:15 a.m. on March 8, 2026, at United Methodist Church in Detroit Lakes, Minn., for Sandra Gustafson Walter, who passed away Feb. 22, 2026. Patrons are welcome to join regular services at 9:15 if so desired. Sandra will be cremated and buried this summer at Evergreen Cemetery Red Lake Falls, Minn.

A memorial service was held March 2, 2026, in Grand Forks, N.D., for John Knudson, Jr., who entered his heavenly home on Feb. 22, 2026, at the age of 85, surrounded by family following a brief illness. Interment was at Calvary Lutheran Church columbarium.

A funeral service was held February 23, 2026, in Fargo, N.D., for Richard McDougall, 84, of Fargo and formerly of Langdon, who passed away February 16, 2026, in Fargo. Richard Roger McDougall was born April 20, 1941, the son of Roger and Regina (Kempert) McDougall, in Langdon.

Doug McDonald, 76, of Belgrade, Mont., died suddenly on February 12, 2026, at the trailhead of one of his favorite Bridger Mountain trails near Bozeman. Doug was born on December 17, 1949, in Langdon, N.D., to Dale and Joyce McDonald.

January 1, 1933 ― February 2, 2026 Oh, what a life of adventure! It didn’t start that way. Luanne Joy Smith was born on the first day of the worst year of the Great Depression to Louis and Lillian Arnold. They lived in Langdon, N.D., a small rural town with a bowling alley and no stoplights. Luanne graduated first among her 35 classmates before making her way to the state’s booming metropolis of Grand Forks (population 27,000) to attend the University of North Dakota.

November 16, 1935 - February 14, 2026 A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2026, at West Funeral Home in West Fargo, N.D., with visitation one hour before the service for Monna Rae Morse, formerly of Langdon, who passed away February 14, 2026. A celebration of life will take place on February 21, 2026 from 1-4 p.m. at the Millennium Ballroom Avalon, 2525 9th Ave S, in Fargo, N.D., for William Francis Lorenz (Willy/Billy), 58, of West Fargo, N.D., who passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, surrounded by his family at home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on February 14, 2026, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon, N.D., with visitation starting at 9:30 a.m. for Ted Mikkelsen, 91, of Langdon, who passed away February 7, 2026, at Osnabrock Community Living Center in Osnabrock, N.D.
